It's funny though...this childish feeling I've got. It seems to have effected me in silly ways here and there. So backstory just a little bit: parking on campus is $156/semester. Yeah I know, it's not as bad as some of your campuses, but I will do anything to avoid a $300+ fee/year! I park in the neighborhoods around campus, which can take me anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to touch the outskirts of campus on foot.
Anyways, I moved my car after class to a closer location (certain streets have time limits and etc) and went back to campus for Discoverfest to table for PBL. All of the officers had class before the end of Discoverfest, so I stayed and tabled by myself. We did fairly well, talked to a lot of folks and will hopefully increase by 15-20 members this semester! I packed up all of our tabling stuff, to include one heavy ass bag full of scrapbooks, awards, plaques, clipboards, tshirts, stuffed animals, you name it...in addition to one of those long poster mailing tubes for our banner. Thinking that we still had our office in the TSU, I lugged all this stuff..stopping every 30 feet or so haha. I get to the TSU, go to the 2nd floor, stop outside of our office...to realize that we don't have an office just yet. No key, no access and I walked there for nothing. In reality, our storage locker was allllll the way across campus at Steven G. Mihaylo Hall (aka Stevie G's) and I was not happy about that.
So I decided to instead, walk the 3 blocks to my car and just bring it back later. Walked the first block and made it to a busy busy intersection: State College Blvd and Dorothy Lane...an intersection of CSUF, Western State Law School, and Troy High School. Talk about BUSY! I hurry across the street...and just as the crosswalk counter winds down....I stumble, trip on a crack in the asphalt, and try my best to fly forward so that I'd make it onto the sidewalk, out of harms way. I did..and it was embarassing!!! I screamed, "OH HELLLLLLLL-O!"...and a bunch fo people turned around that would have otherwise not seen me...and I shot up as soon as I could...not checking to see if I lost any stuff. That shit hurt! LOL!
I really did skin my knees through my jeans. Not too bad though, just a few scruffs, no blood. But still! I can't remember the last time I actually skinned my knees. I've fallen a time or too, but normally, I fall on my ass. No scratches on the ass, you know? How interestingly appropriate for me to skin my knees.
But anyways, the other day...I mentioned a statistic offhand to a friend. I said something along the lines of: "yeah, most users are in the 35-50 age group, so a much older crowd than I expected." and he said, "OLDER? 35 is NOT old." So I thought about it. Of course it's not old. And now, 40 is the new 30...so 50 is the new 40 and etc. It's great. It's awesome. And I LOVE it. But what does that mean for our 20s? If 40 is the new 30, then that means that 30 is the new 20 (which it kinda is...) so what does that make me? Socially 13? Oh god, please no. lol. I remember 13 fondly, sorta. Minus all of the style and social awkwardness. But really, what does that mean? It's an interesting question to explore. And it still confuses me on what I'm "supposed to be doing" or "who I'm supposed to be" or what "responsibilities I'm supposed to be caring for." Allllll of that is blurry now. As much as I want to think for myself, that societal influence and validation is always going to be not at the back, but the front of my head.
Cutting through the madness together? I hope so, ladies. I hope so. ;)

So here' s me and the repositioned locket. I think it looks better now...but we can always move it again ;). I'm wearing... a Missoni-inspired sheer blouse, eggplant tank underneath, black cardigan, dark jeans, and some awesome black flats. :) I would've taken my whole outfit but...I was alone in a nice little park in Fullerton..had no one to ask and no table to take my own pic on. haha. Until next time....
Sorry I didn't post twice w/ my locket. :(
